'Sir Petric', said the King. 'Yes, My Lord?'. 'Sir Petric, If you indeed wish to marry my daughter, then first you must help me with a difficult decision that I am facing'. 'I fear no challenge, for the hand or for the mind, if it would mean marriage, My King!', Sir Petric replied. 'Very well', the King said, 'the forests around my kingdom are treatened by trolls and I need the help of other kingdoms to drive them out of these realms, but every messenger I sent ends up killed'. 'I shall go at once!'

15 May 2005	Dennis Drury	Loading... I love the way you drew a scene and not just a portrait. I think that for art to be truly "fantasy art," it needs a fantasy behind it, that is, a story. You have a story, and you did a fine illustration from it. Also, I like the way the background and the characters in this pic fit together. Fine composition! MC is very much deserved here. If there is a flaw: I think that the troll's eyes do not focus on the knight and his mount. While the knight is clearly focused on the troll, the troll seems to be staring into space. By the way: what is the character on the troll's shoulders supposed to be? Or if that is the troll, when what is he riding? Jeroen Admiraal replies: "Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it very much. yes, working in 3d like this is always hard, perhaps the troll is rather dumb and is running brainless. An other flaw in the composition might be the way how the knight leans to the side of his mount. It leads the eyes of the viewer out of the picture. thank you!"
