Here is the uncolored version of Guardian of the Soul.  I am putting this up for two reasons.  The first reason is to show the detail that was otherwise lost in the coloring of the picture.  (Her face, the insane amount of lines on the wings...)  The second reason is to allow some ambitious person a chance to color the picture.  (I happen to be fascinated by what colors other people would use to color a picture.  No two people ever chose the same colors!)  So, feel free to go ahead and color it, I'd love to see the results.  However, if you decide to take my picture and claim it is yours... well, let's just say I would not be best pleased.

This picture could easily go in my as-of-yet-uncreated Art Nouveau coloring book.

Drawn in May 2007.  This picture, as I said in the colored version, only took 3-5 hours to draw.  And I don't remember how long it took to ink.  I drew her wings while looking at a glorious picture of a Papilio ulysses butterfly which I found online.

Drawn in pencil, then inked with some excellent ink pens.

Oh my... now that is a lot of tiny lines... *is awed*
