	Between a weary scowl and warm a smile, most would be likely to trust the latter, and would gladly choose a pleasant lie over an ugly truth. An unfortunate soul is trapped and tormented for the amusement of a cruel demon. There is only one way out, it’s just a matter of time. This is small (8x4”) watercolor, I tried for a 1920’s look on the dress.

I think everyone can identify with the idea of there being two sides to everyone, there are times when the face that we show to the world is entirely different from whats reallly inside us. 9 Nov 2011	Benjamin Harold Abbott	Loading... I can relate to this, though I doubt any demons are involved in my case. A dark and emotional piece. I’m enchanted by it. Gorgeous detail on the mask and dress. Alison Smoot replies: "Yeah, well you know what they say; a picture says a thousand words. Unlike you, words aren’t my strongest medium, not to mention, they weren’t very nice words, or likely to be well received. As you no doubt assumed, the demon is purely metaphoric. "
