for I have sinned. It has been... too long... since my last confession.

Done in colored pencils. I have to say, I am *very* proud of this piece. This was only my second time attempting metallics/biomechanical things ever. So I'm very, very pleased with how this one came out... it was definitely an experiment in doing new things for me.

The colors I used were an experiment for me as well. Almost nothing but shades of grey and brown (except for the figure). The background, wings, etc, were all done entirely in grey. I went anywhere from shades of cool grey for the wings, to french greys for the cogs in the background.

This was also an experiment in doing my usual complex works, but using color alone to make the complex background *not* overwhelm the main figure.

I think I succeeded... at least I'm happy with how this came out.

Whoa, just impressive work! I love the color combination, all looking metallic and rusty (bah, orange). Also, great detail in the blades/gears/stuff in the BG.

My 19th sense, the Mod´s choice sense is activating...

this is beautiful, i loooooove your style, and the black base is just , well, striking, i love it!!!!!!

:-) Jessica 'Vestaka' Douglas replies: "actually, it was done on light brown paper. All that black was colored in later. And thank you very much. "

I think you have a veritable RIGHT to be proud! That is stunning... I think her hair is probably the highlight, but i love the whole piece!! Everything works beautifully together. But wouldn't it be somewhat unsettling to get your robe caught in that?!

:-) Jessica 'Vestaka' Douglas replies: "it would be, and thank you. "

It doens't look like he's confessing...more contemplating a devious plan. Lol. Is he supposed to look like that?

cool! I like the metallic feel of the whole picture, together with the somewhat old-fashioned look of the character in front... sake for the wings... I also think the hair is very well done, and the whole thing just looks so dreamy... kinda...

This is really wonderful! The mechanical elements really worked out wonderfully.

It looks (kinda) like John DiFool from The Black Incal. This is what he would have looked like if he joined the Techn-Techno cult. At least I think so...
