Today is a day of mourning. We have lost one of our own... and so we cease our explorations for a moment of rememberance.

It was as I sat there, gazing at the stream in front of me, remembering laughter and good times that I saw it. A hint of a reflection, an unnatural shimmer across the surface of the water. My head shot up and I remember feeling shock as I gazed at what... could only be... there was no way. It was gone in an instant, but even in that brief glimpse I remember what I saw.

The pixie dragon, it's wings spread wide, flitting off towards the sky. It held something within it's claws, and clutched it close to his chest. I don't know what it was, I only saw a sparkle and a brilliant shine... but the little thing held it as if it was the most precious of treasures in the world.

I remember thinking... whatever it was that the little creature held, it would be cherished. It would be protected and kept safe from harm, loved and comforted, taken to all the ends of the earth to see everything there is to see and cared for with all of the little dragon's heart. It would be missed by those it left behind, by the ones that had given it that love and care before... but it wouldn't fall into darkness to be forgotten, it wouldn't know pain any more. Just love...
