SciFi and Fantasy Art Contemplations by Alon Rand

This isn't for anybody or anything in particular. I did it because I wanted to. I'm rather proud of it thus far. There's a good deal more detail and time put into this already than my usual thing of late. And (shock of shocks) I intend to at some point color it, too. I'm going to preserve the original b/w, though, so its not going to get done before I can get a copy of it made. Which means going to a copy center, since my printer isn't big enough to print out 11x14 pages. BUt odds are that with all this new space I've got, I'll just add the color beside this one, for comparison's sake. Anyway, enjoy!

24 Apr 2002	Lora E. Mitchell	Loading... Whoa, this is sooooooo awesome!! How do you get your dragons (and other stuff too, for that matter) to look so real? I mean, I know they can't look real because they aren't real, but you know what I mean.

23 Jan 2003	Jaykin	Loading... This is a really good drawing. This dragon is very unique in my opinion. This is somewhat of a humanoid dragon. I like the wings and its appearance as it contemplates who knows what. However, I will also have to agree with several others on the color issue. Personally, I do feel that the color will lose the feel of the drawing. It leaves it up to the viewer to use their imagination somewhat. The one thing I am going to have to say negative, is about the rocks. To me, it looks more as though it was crumpled up paper thrown into a pile. It needs more variety and shape among the rocks. Other than that, it is an excellent drawing.

3 Mar 2003	Amy J. Sterling	Loading... That is pretty interestingly done. He kind of looks coated in seran wrap, but i don't mean that in a bad way. I'm simply saying its appearence is very slick.
