This is the sketch that resulted in my Christmas gift to My Beloved, Arren. I drew it by hand, then scanned it to build a computer painting from it. Sorry about the copyright across the middle, but this was a very special gift for Arren, and I REALLY don't want it stolen. To that end, DON'T STEAL THIS!!! YOU CAN'T HAVE IT, FOR ANY REASON. Obviously, I can't stop you from printing it out for yourself, but I WILL be ticked off if this, or the other version posted here, make their way anywhere else publically available.

I agree that it stinks. I, for instance, like to put links to dragon pictures I like (because I'm so picky, finding pictures I like is a lengthy, time-consuming process) and I wish that the copyright wasn't necessary, because it is one of those good dragon pictures.

I know where you got the idea for this drawing, your stories are amazing thanks for the great pics that go along with it see ya

:-) Alon Rand replies: "Actually, this one is not based on any of my stories in any way. As I said in the description, this was a Christmas present to my fiancee, and was always intended as solely that. The symbolism of the dragon and gryphon relates to our relationship, not to any of my stories. Although I can sort of understand the confusion. But Telara is silver, not blue, and Rakeen is brown and gold, not purple. And I highly doubt they'll ever be affectionate in this fashion."

Lovely picture, but i thought you said that dragons only tolerate gryphons at best in your stories. Those two seem to care about eachother.

:-) Alon Rand replies: "This isn't a picture from my stories. Most of my artwork has nothing to do with those, actually, except where specifically stated in the description. And just because I write something one way doesn't mean that's the way I think they have to be.This was, as I state in the description above, a gift for my now-wife, then-girlfriend for Christmas. She identifies with gryphons, while I identify with dragons. That's really all there is to it."
