Again, a picture that is nothing more than the title. the scan kind of hides it, but he is standing on a platform that wraps around a very big tree. Obviously, he's got his bow aimed at someone far below. I know that he's got no feet, but the picture is not done yet and when it is you won't be able to see them because the leaves of those branches will be covering them. And I want to fiddle with that bow's handle some more, I don't like the way it turned out....

*Looks closely* You know, I stink at proportions, so I think he looks great. Great job!

This is the best elf pic on here, very tolkienish elf with realistic body stance and very nicely sketched features. IF this is a tolkien elf then the ears are my only complaint, where did tolkien ever say elves had long pointy ears?

Now this, this is a real elven archer! Could you do something similar to this charater but, with a scimitar?

My only scrutiny is the arm that is pulling the string back. It is bent funny, and it's not pulling the arrow to the right spot as someone said earlier. also the angle of the arm pulling the string doesn't match the angle of the bow. You do that and the arrows don't go straight. Sorry for being nitpicky, it really is quite good, it's just that ARM! *hehe*.

In response to you and everyone else who's critisized the arm, you're absolutely right, and its the single biggest reason why this picture was never finished. I struggled with the positioning of the arms for days with this picture, and it finally frustrated me so much I just gave up on it. I will most likely never go back and finish this picture now, partly given how old it is, and partly because I've erased it so much I really couldn't anyway. If I ever were to make any sort of attempt to fix it, I'd find myself forced to start over.

Hehe... This is my favorite of any of your pictures containing humans. Aside from his arm, which is .... well, kinked, I think this is wonderful. He looks so cool and hes kinda good looking.. Tolkienish, as one reader stated, and I agree! The legs are a bit wide spread for him to be holding a stance unless he was..in some situation wiht balance. o.0 But VERY COOL! I love this and the pose overtall is very natural.

Accually what matters more than how your stance is when pulling back the bow, is that you do it consitently the same way every time.

Bah, you can pull a bow back when your arm bent 14.
