This is the map over my invented world, Andria. I made it many, many years ago, but it still works. Andria is the place where my imaginary creatures and characters have resided since I was just a kid. =)

Nice map. I've been trying to get a map made up about the story I'm righting but i keep changing my mind and coming up with new countries and getting rid of old ones. Well, I fugure something out eventualy. Cool Map!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I've also changed borders and countries quite a bit since I first created Andria. A tip is to first make a basic map without borders so you can change it freely along with your new ideas. Thank you for commenting!"

Cool, someone else who like to draw maps. Some of my friends had the smart idea of creating a cmputor game (never came through)and I was the one asked to do the concept sketches. I made about 4 versions of the same map. Do you make multiple versions of maps? (i.e topographical, political, climatic)

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Multiple versions of maps..? You bet! =^_^= I have topographical, climatic, maps over winds, currents, animal life, etc etc... My latest project is to make this map as a real 3D globe..."

I like the textures used on the different vegetation areas. It's also nifty how the dolphin in the middle seems to be jumping over the equator.

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Oh, you noticed about the textures! =^_^= You can't see it very well on the scanned version, but it is intentional, like the grass is drawn with vertical lines and so on. Thanks!"

hi...i find that the best way to make world maps is if u take a blank picture of the real world map put it into a program on ur comp i.e paint and stretch, rotate and move the continents around maybe joining them onto others or splitting them apart, this method leaves you with continents and the little islands that are annoying to draw. hope it helps, id show u some but i cant put my pictures on here jsut yet xD lol

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Thanks for the tip! That was basically what I did, except I didn't use a computer, but my brain. =) I never do computer art, I'm too bad at it. Besides, I didn't want a random world - I had a very clear idea of what I wanted in terms of paths for migrating birds, sail routes, metrological conditions..."

Yeah! A map! Sorta like maps but forgot how to make them... Can I order you to make a bigger version? As big as possible! (ignores that Elfwood alows maximum 1000*1000 pixel wide pictures) Want to see every detail!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "The original is of course bigger. I could mail it to you if you’re interested."
