This little fellow just popped up in my sketchbook one day, without introducing himself or asking for permission. Rather rude, actually. I don't know where he came from, cause it's sure not like me to draw a creature with such a doubtful biological design. I could swear he created himself. Anyway, I'll let him stay, if not for anything else, than out of pity. I'd like to color him digitally, but I don't know how. Anyone up for the challenge? (Thanks for the helpful comments about the left leg, Fläder-kun, but doesn't it still look a bit weird? -_-)

Thank you Elfwood artist: Mandy 'Tom' Elliott http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/t/h/thegodchild for coloring this picture! The colored version can be seen here: http://imperterritus.com/images/archaeo2e.jpg

This guy is lovely. I don't care if he's biologically sound 2 he looks good enough, maybe slightly shy of wing muscles. Does he eat insects? I have a wasp problem he can come help with 2

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "You're probably right about the wing muscles... But then again, it's an archaeopteryx griph, so he possibly is a poor flyer. =) No wait... archaeopteryx was a good flyer, but it had the APPARENCE of a bad one. Never mind. ^^ Yes, I do believe he eats insects, and he probably doesn't have any trouble with wasps. =) Thanks for the comment!"

He looks to cute if you ask me, you don't even have to color him i like him like that2

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Too cute? =) Well, he is not a vicious beast... I know I wouldn't be able to color him the way I imagine him, so I guess I'll leave him like this. Thank you for commenting!"

Not bad pretty cool actually but i wouldn't call him exactly rude.....Yet. I don't think you should color him... That always screws up the good pictures... Like this one

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Thanks... I'll leave him as he is for now. I can't color on computer anyway, and that's what I had in mind. One just has to use one's imagination instead. =)"

you shouldn't color this one. it looks great the way it is. It has a lot of detail and it'd be pretty hard to fill will all those lines.

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I wouldn't know, cause I'm cluesless about coloring on computer... so I'll take your word for it. ^^ Thanks for dropping by!"

I have but one tip for you outlines do not exist that was something artist invented to help the draw. It will improve your art 10 fold.

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "You know, you're right... That's an interesting point. I've been thinking a lot about it. I don't know why I'm so stuck on drawing outlines on everything I do. It's just my style, I guess... I'll try something different next time, promise! =) Thanks a lot for the tip! It WILL make the pics look more realistic..."

Okay, maybe I lied. I like this one alot too. I try to be constructive about my comments and not just say "Wow this is awsome!" Because, duh, someone beat me to it! I think the left leg looks fine. I also thing that the outline (in this particular picture as well as others) that you do when you draw helps the figure to stand out against the blank backround. Sort of aiding the subconscious in creating any backround for him. To me, his body position and facial (If you can call it that) expression says, "Huh?"

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Yay! Someone likes my outlines! XD I was a bit depressed when I found out I just fell right back into my old habits again after trying to avoid outlines for a while... *lol* Oh well. I feel a bit better now. And I do think that he is looking at something that either startles or surprises him a little."
