SciFi and Fantasy Art Dust by Emma JC Nilsson

During my visit to the Philippines, I got the opportunity to witness cock fighting. That experience inspired me to paint this. The roosters were vicious and frightening enough, just imagine what two bigger creatures would be like... The name for this piece is kind of a pun. 'Dust' means 'battle' in swedish, but of course it also refers to the desert dust whirling around. As I painted the picture, I tried to figure out the best way to paint the dust, but it was a problem I couldn't solve as well as I wanted.

10 Aug 2010	Emma May Richardson	Loading... Oh this is wonderful, but I wonder what they’re fighting about????? If I might give some constructive critisism? It may just be me, but legs on the left griffin look a little short and rigid, a way to improve this wonderful picture might be to lengthen them a tiny bit. Just a suggestion, sorry to be picky, I sure couldn’t do any better (but I could do a lot worse).
