This young elf girl have yet to learn that some things are not what they appear to be, but for now, she is just thrilled to have found a real 'dragonfly'... The dragon turned out more dragonfly-like than I first had imagined it, since I after looking at a couple of pictures of dragonflies, realized just how beatiful they really are.

It's absolutly adorable! It looks so realistic and perfect! I Agree with the comment above of lack of detail in the hair, but it's still gorgeouse!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Thank you. I was hoping to get a realistic feel of it, as if a creature like that might just land on your finger one day. =D"

Now this is cute! I love the concept, and the design of the 'dragonfly' is just perfect. It's neat how curious it seems, and how you kept it looking insect-like while adding the distinct characteristics of a dragon.

The little elf-child's expression is also wonderful. The softness and roundness of her face and skin is nicely done, although the piece could perhaps use more contrast and detail (particularly in her hair and clothing) to help give it a bit more depth. It also looks as if her arm might be a bit too long, but it's always so hard to tell when the form extends beyond the frame...

But I criticize too much - it is a sweet and well-crafted piece with a lovely sense of childish awe. Very nice work. Keep it up! ^_^

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Keep the critic comming! ^_^ I know I didn't put so much effort into the hair. Hair is difficult. =/ I also wondered about the arm, thinking it looks weird, but I think it IS right, even though it doesn't seem to be. I've checked over and over again... Thank you so much for the comment, I'm glad you liked the "dragonfly"!"

Awww, this is a cute picture. They both look very pleased to have met each other. Great job on this picture, your a great artist. I love your shading and that dragonfly is awesome!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Thank you for the kind comments! I'm sure the girl is delighted by the meeting, but I'm wondering if maybe the little dragon will do something slightly wicked in a moment... I'm not sure though, I'll leave that to the beholder. =)"

The shading on the elf’s face looks almost natural. I’ve been trying to add elf like ears to some of my characters. The hair is also well done. These are area I find very difficult. I never even thought of giving the elf ears a horizontal slant. The dragonfly is rather a neat twist as well. Cool Pic!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I didn't even think about the horizontal slant of the ears before you pointed it out. o.o, I had to look at the pic and I thought, Oh dear, he's right. That's just the way I do elfen ears, I guess! =^.^=, I'm happy with the skin shading, but the hair I put down a little too effort in, in my oppinion. Thank you very much for your comments!"

Wow, that is very magical! Dragonflies used to scare me as a kid, but now that I am older, they really are beautiful. I love how you made the dragon look very much like the dragonfly, which would make it easier for a magical creature to hide in our world without being noticed. 2 Love it!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I was thinking that only children look close enough to see the magic. =) An adult would probably only have seen an ordinary dragonfly..."

it is wonderful. I love your concept. If your goal is realism perhaps some slight shrinking of the eye and shading detail in the whites would help. but this is a wonderful piece

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "*LOL* I've been drawing manga for too long... It's really difficult to make the eyes a realistic size. =)"

I find this quite beautiful, although I think the arm may be disperporshened, or placed wrong.

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I’ve been thinking the same thing, but I believe I checked that it’s possible to hold your arm like that... maybe it’s just not very natural."
