A not-so-failed project, dispite the title. The failed project part 1 was this same picture but in oil. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, put mildly. -_- After the disappointment with the oil project, I went on and drew the same picture again, this time with colored pencils. I started out slightly depressed and with no real ambitions other than to practice, but as it developed, I started to like it. It turned out ok in the end, considering I usually don't use colors. (The japanese characters say Akaihane, my online nickname)

Ha, I got the first comment this time! Mwahahahahaaa! You get an evil jiggle. This picture is great! I love the colours on the wings!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I was really going for the coloring of this one... Maybe I even overdid it, but I had fun. ^^"

I'm wrong, hane is feather. *facepalm* Anyway, this gives me an excuse to say what I forgot to before: your phoenix heads are exquisite. I just keep looking at them and they're so amazing.

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Yes, RedFeather is the correct translation. =) Flower is 'hana'... close enough. Thank you for your comment on this one, I'm glad you liked the head, even though in my oppinion it's slightly too 'fluffy'. ^_^, I think it's a young phoenix..."

Akaihane? That would be red flower, am I right? I like this one much better than I thought I would from the thumbnail. ^_~ It has a quality to it that I associate with ornate vases and things. Very beautiful.

very nicely done, love the colors 10

(pheonix's another favorite animal of mine)

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Phoenix's are the best. =) The fun thing about this picture was to almost exaggerate the colors. Thanks for dropping by!"

This is very beautiful! The colors are absolutely gorgeous! I love the brightness of the "fluffy" head and the darkness on the edge of the wings - just beautiful!

:-) Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Thank you, I'm happy you liked it! I had a bit of fun with the colors on this one... ^.^"
