She is gorgeous. I like how her arms are realistically muscular. Something that lives under water would use its arms as well as its legs for locomotion, and you showed that well. Nice job.

This is amazing work. The anatomy is awsome and even the octopus half of her looks good, I also like her body pose.

I think it would be awesome if you could cast some molds from your sculptures.

I know there are some places you can get them cast out of resin... I just don't remember the links.

That way, though, you could paint them after they are cast, and hair them, then possibly sell them.

And as a reply to the previous comment, try going to sculpey.com. They sell many types of polymer clay.

I need to start sculpting again...

That is beautiful!

I've always wondered... where abouts do you find polymer clay? I've always wanted to try it, but I've looked in several places and haven't been able to find any.

:-) Kate Sjoberg replies: "my favorite place to get clay is at http://www.clayalley.com Octavia is made from Cernit. cernit is a HUGE pain to work with, but it has such beautiful flesh tones once its cured. "

Lovely lovely lovely! The colors all work so well together; very nice fiery palette; so often sea creatures are pictured in blues and greens; it's nice to find a change! Beautiful proportions and detailing...
one question: she has eight legs? and two arms? well, octopus means eight-feet/eight-footed, so arms may not fall under that count.
But stunning nevertheless. 12

P.S.: do you know if this "magic word" thing is new on the comment forms? I don't recall seeing it before. I keep having to type in a new word when I spell-check! XD
