||A drawing that started on Bristolboard with a hard pencil and ended up in Photoshop after 30 hours. |
This picture went through many changed because I didn't really have a plan for it. Also changed the clothes of him many, many times and the colouring till I could finally start to finish him.
Even the background made many changes. Once it was very broad and with trees in the background, I changed it to normal clouds and moonlight.
As if the figure would walk through the night into the morning.
On the stick is a bound caterpillar, which gives the elf light in the dark night. It's not stuck on it, just bound. I tried to use cold light only but the violet of the caterpillar already gives a warm light into the scene. Even the glowworms on the ground, flying up as he walks close to them, have a quite cold light to me.
Through his long hiking, he proably hurt himself by walking through hard brushwoods. The pants aren't heavy and easy to use. But it seems to be summer there and the nights are warm.
I was happy when I finished the picture and I'm quite pleased. The body shape and way of walking reminds me strong of a friend of us and the face is like the one of my cousin.
Thank for looking.
