No really ! The beast of Gevaudan has never been a weasel ! You can trust me, it's a french girl who tells you it. I pass very much summer holidays in the place of the old Gevaudan and this 'legend' has impassioned me very much.
It said to be a wolf but many studies have made funny theories or hypothesis of evil and some other stupid things.
There is a french movie about this story which has been made a few years ago. It 's named 'Brotherhood of wolf' ('Le pacte des loups' in french). This producer has a different vision : a political manipulation of the nobility to weaken the power of the king and who had inter-bred a hyena with another dangerous animal to threaten people.
I won't go on much but if you want, you can ask me questions. No problems of it, this topic is one of my favorite.

ive done my reserch too! though ive never heard of it being stuffed and put in a musium! i saw about it on saturdays somthing called saturday night sleep over! well i hear about it again on doctor who and insearch of! this reminds me of the big bad wolf... bad wolf... BAD WOLF?! eny ways i hear that a great diplomat or somthing bread a wholf and a hyena together and then that with a dog so he could control the beast. you know loyalty of a dog? well it seemed to work... though i hear it was more dog like than human kind of looking... i see the broblem with the eyes. it has 2 eyes on one side of its face well kinda one side kinda looks like one is on his forhead...i heard a maiden killed it with an iron spear in it heart and it disapeard into some cavers.

discovery channel did a special on this. they went back into the history books and found that the subject, "werewolf", was shot and killed and sent to some museam in Europe. They found that taxadermed subject. It was a long haired Hyena. Check it out, factoid.
