  | This is a very old picture, I did this probably in the 80s and I recently did some minor touch up using the Photoshop. I mean this picture is so old that the paper had turn yellowish and is on the verge of disintegrating. I wanted to put this pic in the gallery coz I wanted to take the opportunity to share with those that stumbled in this area the interesting sea monster evidence that is highly disputed back in the April 25,1977. This is the rotting carcass of a plesiosaur-like monster netted by the Japanese trawler, the Zuiyo-maru of the Taiyo Fishery Co. Ltd. of the coast of New Zealand. The prehistoric sea-monster was long-necked with four visible paddle-like fins or limbs was thouht to be extinct with the dinosaurs about 65 million years ago. However the captain of the fishing vessel fearing that the putrid bizarre unidentified creature would contaminate the rest of his catch in the trawler, decided to discard the probable find of the century back into the ocean. The sea-monster was said to weigh about 4000 pounds with a small-sized head, clearly well-defined spinal column, and the lack of dorsal fin; is obvious that this is some sort of prehistoric sea-dwelling creature similar to the plesiosaur. Unfortunately, skeptics refuted this with lab results and reports from tissue samples collected by a Japanese graduate of Yamaguchi Oceanological high school, Michihiko Yano who happened to be on board. He also took some measurements and five evidential photographs of the Zuiyo-maru carcass as it was later called. The results strongly pointed that the specimen was of a basking shark (Cetorhibnus maximus). Which I strongly disagree as I've myself had studied and make a number of comparisons with the decomposing extent of the basking shark and there's no way that it would result in an elogated neck like that in picture taken by Yano. And clearly there's no way a rotting Shark would be able to produced a spinal column as that which is very much visible in one of Yano's picture.
