This pic is based on another story I've conceived and first time try putting it down in words, its about the five elemental swordsplay, the five elements being : gold, wood , water, fire and earth. The Grand Sword Master owns and lived in the 'Thousand Sword Island' devised a sword technique so powerful that no one person including himself is able to wield the strokes of the five elements combined; one will die of internal injuries if persist to master this skill. Thus he dissipated the techniques to five person, each with its own strokes based on each element. Due to the nature, the various strokes cannot be combined and 5 person's personalities counters each other and must cater to the strokes e.g the fire stroke can only be mastered by a person who is hot-tempered and the water stroke is best suited to a lady; and since all 5 persons personality is so different, they quarreled and pitted their skills against each other but with no eventual winner cos they are equally good. One day a young man stumbled on to the island and befriended the 5 swordsmen and they each decided to teach him half of their sword-skills, whoever managed to coached him to master half their skills first will be recognised as the one with the more powerful elemental swordsplay. He eventually mastered each of their skills and comprehended the essence behind the FEswordplay. To attained a level higher, one can only master half or less of each of the elemental techniques and he was able to intelligently make use of whatever resources available within the environment or surroundings and incorporate it into the swordsplay which he eventually evolved into the 'Formless Sword Technique' In this pic, I try to capture the moment the young man is cornered and is force to utilised the grasses as he command them to soar up into the air and swoops around him like hundreds of blades encircling him like a force-field, hence anything can be used as swords, e.g twigs, water, leaves and even sands. P.S. I apologised for the some-what awkward English used here cos this is actually a translation from a story that's in Chinese text.

Wonderful story, and I love the dynamic, energetic pose of this warrior.

First I saw it, it reminded me of someone Biblical (Jesus, Moses, or someone). Well, although it still kind of does, I don't think of it that way anymore.
Anyway, another well-done piece.

what i mean to say is: you’ll look back on this when your older and go: "Man... and I that was cool lol" I don’t mean to discourage you from drawing and it IS a good drawing in the quality side, but I must say... it is quite a cheezy pose.6 No hard feelings, k?

I did these types of drawings too last year and would have poured all over this one, but now I even look back on MY drawings and say "oh crap... I can’t beleive I thought that drawing was cool" and then just laugh at myself. Just so’s ya’s know’s. Dont bash me!17
