This pic was inspired by the one werewolf movie I personally think contains the human to werewolf transformation that is unparalleled till this date. An American Werewolf in London is a movie about a American guy and his friend who were attacked on the English moor by a werewolf. One of them survived the brutal attacks only to discover that by the next full-moom he'll be transformed into a four-legged lycanthrope wreaking havoc in the crowded streets of London. The transformation effects is realistic and breathtaking; I think its so great that nobody have been able to top it yet even with today's computer generated images, its still not able to capture that realistic transformation sequence. Although it spawned several werewolf movies in the 80s like Howling 1 with make-up effects from Rob Bottin; the man behind the special effects of my favourite monster movie of all time - The Thing; and British make-up effects expert Christopher Tucker's The Company of Werewolves; which were quite good but they were not able to dethroned the special effects devised by Rick Baker & his team. It is also the first movie (if I'm not wrong) to depict a werewolf that moves on all four, like that of a wolf, on screen, unlike most classic werewolves movie where the werewolf goes on 2 legs. The ground-breaking effects and great direction by John Landis make this a classic and unforgettable werewolf movie.

PS I am often a person that does not like "CG" artwork as I think it is used FAR too much in recent times..ie, The Hulk...need I say more? With werewolves it is only natural that new movies involving creatures of the night will start to experiment more with computer generated characters. I liked a lot of the story-line in Van Helsing, but I feel that the CG effects could have been held back a BIT. The only creatures I feel were appropriately rendered using the CG effects were Hyde and the Werewolves, it was too much with the little Dracula-lings and flying demon/bat/Vampires--I could have done without those. Ginger Snaps and Silver Bullet were both cool renderings of werewolves, the latter of the two being one of my more favorites--Corey Haim and the special effects make that one a fun one....

I like all of the above werewolf movies, and I will not contest that several people have attempted, and often, in my opinion, FAILED at creating beleivable creatures. A werewolf is a difficult thing to create, since not many people believe they exist, ans therefore have never actually SEEN one. I believe if a creature is part man AND part wolf, then there should be a good combination of both physical traits of them. Since a werewolf most often STARTS on two legs, then it is only fitting that is should end on FOUR...hmmmm? It has been said by most believers(and sightings) of werewolves that they are capable of standing on two legs if startled or walked upon suddenly, but if they flee or choose to charge they do so on all fours, so in my POV, the best "movie" werewolves should be able to do half and half when ever a scene pertains to an appropriate action. To date, the best movie to accomplish this, as of yet, is Van Helsing. I think they did an EXCELLENT version of a werewolf, both while changing, and while in motion. They may have been fully computer generated, but they fit my idea of what a werewolf would look like with perfect proportions of both a man and a wolf. I think this rendering is done well, and I like it.

Where is his tail??

No offense but it looks like a butt ugly bear... Werewolves have tails, they have fur all over their body, their faces are VERY wolf like, they have paw like hands, paws for feet, they stand on their hind legs except when running or stalking, and their chests are a U shape and not quite as big as that. And what Lobosa said is true in some occasions. Some werewolves are born werewolves making them tamer then the normal werewolf. Those born werewolves learn to control their transformations. Those who are cursed however are rapid.
But I suppose werewolves can look different on how they are made so good job anyway. It's a nice pic I just know they don't look like that.

You guys can argue about the finer points of warewolf form all you like. All I know is I definitely do NOT want to meet that thing down a dark alley.

Props for the original feet.

Some say that your picture needs a tail, but werewolves don't have tails. That's how you can tell they're werewolves.
