From Greek myth, the multi-headed hydra; lurks in the swamp of Lernea and was one of the toughest challenge for the mighty Hercules. When one head of the hydra is chopped off, two will grow in its place. Originally it have 7 heads and that is what is depicted here. This picture is a tribute to Ray Harryhausen's Jason and the Argonauts, one of my favourite creations of Harryhausen.

Don't listen to the dork right above me. I really like this pic. The use of different mediums and styles shows a stronger grasp of creative art than what I have ;(

For the anonymous guy above- 1) different myths tell of the hydra having anywhere from 3 to hundreds of heads 2) so what if it only has seven? Is that going to kill you. Now to the picture, i really like the simplicity of this and the color scheme, it just seems to work. Great job

I really like this. It struck me. The style loks like it's right off of a Grecian Amphora or Vase. Great work.

I like this picture. It is an abstractual representation of a your concept of what a hydra could look like. The use of the colors as well as the background and off center focus provides an interesting and appealing artwork. I really believe that if you haven't taken an art class or if you have that you should continue to develop your drawing abilities. Again I believe that taking Sketching for Design (Art 15) by instructor Sue Brown, this class is avaible at Pasadena City College will provide you with more insights and techniques in which to develop this ability. I myself take this class and have found it's information to be useful in my own drawings. Good work.

hm.. not to mention once you chop off and sear two heads, it *would* have only seven. Nice technique.. Bahst is right it does look kind of like an amphora drawing fo some kind.
