You seem to be good at musculature in drawings as well as computer renderings, which is cool. Alexander J. Harron replies: "Thanks, I take great pride in me muscles! Shame I don't have any of me own..." | |
| 2 Mar 2003 | Sky van Niekerk | Loading...Cuaotemoc!!! Nice I encounter his name! You sure knew this guy really excisted? Not like this fierce warrior but as an Aztec prince and warriorpriest. Tenochtitlan... djee If I just could see through time... nice picture!Yeah, there was an Emperor of the Aztecian culture called Cuaotemoc, about the time of the Spanish Invasion of Mexico under Cortez. I took the name because I liked it, and also because there isn't enough Aztecian based mythology type stuff...</a></i> | |
| 16 Jun 2003 | Gia Ariana8604@hot...com> | Loading...Ooh, he's cool. I like his necklace-thing, and his sword is cool, too.Yeah, just a feather necklace and a short sword. Technically an Aztecian wouldn't have a sword, but fantasy's fantasy, eh?</a></i> | |
| 27 Sep 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...First off, let me just compliment you on a superb barbarian. The muscle tone is incredible. Unfortunately, the only thing remotely Aztec about him is his loincloth. Aztecs did not carry swords, but rather obsidian/flint edged clubs called macahuitls. And they generally dressed up in flamboyant costumes with feathers, jaguar skins, and shields designed to display one's rank and intimidate the enemy. Alexander J. Harron replies: "The key word here is "fantasy". I'm quite aware that he's not a typical Aztecan warrior, but I just love the landscapes of mezoamerica, particularly the mesas and cities, and I thought transplanting a European barbarian might be fun. And the misspelling was intentional, just to add a mythic feel." | |
| 26 Nov 2003 | Aaron | Loading...Hummm.... Ok, as the gut above me says, this doesn´t look like an aztec warrior. Ok, you have an interesting barbarian in here. Oh, by the way, the name is Cuauhtemoc, from Tenochtitlan. The name means "landing eagle". Trust me, I live in the reamins of Tenochtitlan. Well, nice try. Alexander J. Harron replies: "Again, I employed a little artistic licence ni the naming of the barbarian dude, and I jsut added a few little aztec motifs. Since he's a mercenary type barbarian, he might not want to restrict himself to one cultural outlook, so maybe it's better that he doesn't look too "Aztecan"." | |
| 31 Oct 2004 | Wayne H. Hodge | Loading...This is a very good picture and I don't understand why everyone is so upset about whether he is Aztec or not. Who cares, this is fantasy and as you said, in the world of fantasy you can create anykind of being you so desire. That is the whole point of fantasy. You just keep doing what you're doing as it's great!!! | |
