An illustration from the beginning of 'The Scarlet Citadel' by Robert E. Howard. I took a bit of a liberty by replacing the broadsword with the axe, but really he could have dropped his axe in favour of a sword at some point... (a more detailed description will be up when I have the time)

Conan is one of my favorite characters, and I know this is interesting for anyone...however,sometimes his authors put too much magic in it.Great pic!

:-) Alexander J. Harron replies: "Depends on the author I suppose. I only really read the canonical (Conanical if you will) Robert E. Howard stories, not really being a fan of Jordan or de Camp's. Karl Edward Wagner did some good pastiches though."

Scarlet Citadel... isn't it when Conan, as the Aquilonian king, had to fight alone after his army had been destroyed by the treacherous kings of Koth and Ophir. I really enjoyed the story albeit in comic form 2 Great work with the inking plus the lighting and the "camera angle" (the pile of bodies around him works very well, I wouldnt like to be one of those who will have to fight him). Really enjoy this one 1 Keep it up!

Cheers!

:-) Alexander J. Harron replies: "'Twas indeed The Scarlet Citadel, probably among my top 5 favourite Conan stories. I haven't read all the comics, but the ones I've read so far are pretty good stuff. Thanks for the comment!"
