When treading the long darkness of Khazad-Dhum, the Fellowship are assailed by an ancient demon from the dead history of Middle-Earth, a Balrog. Gandalf the Grey knew that this foe was far beyond reproach from any members of the Fellowship, save perhaps himself. At the Bridge of Khazad-Dhum, Gandalf challenged the beast in a spectacular fight to the death...

Uh oh, it has wings, you must be one of "those" people.
Repent! For the kingdom of Tolkien is near. Return from your evil winged-Balrog ways to the true path of wingless, flightless Balrogs.

:-) Alexander J. Harron replies: "To tell you the truth, I'm actually NOT a wings person. I guess I was just pandering to the view of the general fan (who mostly think it has wings), and I guess I wanted to do a big huge demon dude with wings. I shall probably do my own, "personal" opinion of what the Balrog is, but unfortunately I suspect I'd get a tide of "OMG DUDE WHER R DA WINGS!??!11!?1""

Did you do this before or after the movie came out? Because if it was after, then that would make some sense that the two versions looked alike. But if it was before...then I would have to ask if you were somehow related to Peter Jackson, which I pray for your sake that you are not. (I've got nothing against the guy; it's just that he screwed up Legolas by putting Orlando Bloom in there to play him. He ruined my favorite character! (after Aragorn, of course))
