| 14 Jan 2003 | Morag K Hannah | Loading...Looove this. I imagined Treebeard having more browny colouring, and looking like an old man. But nonetheless as a picture of a Tree elemental / Ent / Whatever, this is great. Excellent detail. Alexander J. Harron replies: "I thought he did look like an old man... but then I read Swamp Thing a lot before Lord of the Rings, so I guess I had that figure in my head anyway..." | |
| 2 Mar 2003 | Dutchdutchdutch | Loading...well, (saw my comment on the previous pic?) this one DOES rhyme with my image of an Ent - and it's of the same incredible quality. Love it, i do. though, I do not think this Ent would be Fangorn, for I too think of Fangorn as very old, even for an Ent (stupid of course, for all Ents have been around since the beginning of time etc. - just like Tom Bombadil btw, think they like each other? no doubt. probably Tom even knows where the Ent-females have gone.) anyway, it's as close to perfect as one can get. | |

| 28 Jun 2003 | Jason Ellis | Loading...Gee, talking about the dude... you are the dude! Great work here - you really have brought the old Fanga to life in this. Hmm, he doesn't look very happy though does he *remembers that he has just been chopping wood for the fire and backs away from Treebeard very carefully... then ruuuuns* | |

| 19 Aug 2004 | L.B. Fowler | Loading...This definetly looks like an ent that could mess up a troll bad. Good work. | |

| 23 Aug 2008 | Ezra Urk the Gurk Fulford | Loading...Ehhhh,,.... Not to be to rough on you, because I like some of your work.... but for someone who complains about the innacracies of Peter Jackson, this is quite the interperitation of Treebeard. For one thing, he has no beard. or if he has one, it is barely visible, and hardly worth naming him for it. And those are fat legs. With no toes, which Tolkien specifically mentions as being seven on each foot.
I think we Tolkien geeks complain because Peter Jackson got to make the movie we all wanted to make, and he made it better than any of us could have.
I looked up the first description of Treebeard from LOTR. It’s too long to paste here, but I’ll provide a link to a Wikipedia page that has the text.
