Eisoaghal (a loose translation of the Highland Gaelic term for 'Otherworld') is the name of a series of stories I have written set in an ancient Scotland long ago, much in the vein of Howard's Hyborian age. Here, many elements of Scottish folklore have a root in reality: giant hominids throw rocks at each other; predatory horses lurk in swamps and lochs; phantom women wail at fords and rivers.

But most of all, there are faeries. < p>Of course, they bear little in common with the Victorian imaginings of them: they are not small, they are not imaginary, and they are most definitely not benevolent. The Sith (roughly prounounced 'Shee') are a terrible race of beings: obsessed with glory and conquest, they either surround themselves in sickening indulgences or war incessantly among themselves. But at the discovery of the Faery Mounds, they discovered a new world to conquer and pillage: they called it Eisoaghal. It was Our World.

This is just truely, truely awesome and I love the story line that you have with it. I had a simular story Idea years ago but I never got around to writing it. This is really great!!!

:-) Alexander J. Harron replies: "It turns out my story isn't so original after all... I recommend you read Arthur Machen's "The White People" and Abraham Merrit's "The Women of the Woods". But you should never let things like that stop you writing: had Shakespeare felt that way he'd never have written Hamelt after seeing The Spanish Play."
