Not much has been said about Thuringwethil, the female vampire and messenger of Sauron. Who was she? What were her duties? Her deeds? Her atrocities?

Of course, she was said to have been bat-winged, with claws of iron (as was everything in Morgoth's realm of Angband), but I chose to portray her in a more feminine form, as a vampire has many...

I've tried sketching her, but it didn't turn out nearly as evil-looking

I love this. It is a really good use to black and white. I love the tones in this.

Oooh...you and my brother would assuredly get along very well. If he doesn't have all of the Tolkien books, then I'm sure he's probably only missing one. I was also pretty disappointed that a lot of Morgoth's creations aren't really produced as artwork. You don't see much of his hound (dang it, I can't remember the name now!), Glaurung, or a lot of his henchmen that much. Hmmm...now it's time for Beren and Luthien to come along and destroy this monstrosity...heh heh heh...
