I find it very refreshing, that you have been able to avoid the "over muscled" look on this elf! It is something I have a real problem doing.... adding a lot of muscles to my male figures. You managed to pull it off wonderfully!!! Nice to see a more "natural" looking swords-man (elf) for once
*lol* Keep up the great work, Alex! You are certainly going places with your art Alex Pass
replies: "LOL this was the first picture I put up here and no one has ever mentioned it. I know it's not perfect and so I wasn't bothered, but then you come along and give me praise like that Are you the kind of guy who can see the best in everything? Well, glad you liked it anyway."

This is great! You're right that the elements separately are great! If I myself could draw guys and muscles, I wouldn't be afraid posting my works!
I like the movement in thi one. He is just going to attack. Showing how big virtuoso he is. And the expression on his face is great - he's immitigable and concetrated in what he's goona do! Great job! Alex Pass
replies: "I tried to resize it in photoshop to fix the proportions but there wasn't a lot I could do, but glad you like it anyway. Thanks so much for your comments. I was gonna delete this but maybe now I'll keep it."

Ive noticed that you do alot of work with warriors and i was wondering if you could do a samurai just a thought. You do great work so keep it up Alex Pass
replies: "Yeah, warriors are probably my favourite to draw. I've never attempted a samurai before, probably because of the huge ammount of detail in the armour which i rarely have the patience for I'll add it to my huge list of 'things to draw' and maybe someday it will happen."

Hi. I love the way the hands turned out, the shading on the fingers is very subtle but accurate, a hard to find combination which i happen to adore (i'm a shading maniac). the head IS too big, and i suggest to change the head if you decide to change anything, cuz the hands are so great. if you don't change it, i'd just suggest that you try and make his irises and pupils smaller, cuz they make his eyes look much bigger than they could be (you don't even need to change their actual size much. they seem to big now). if you look at the ratio between the white and the irises of a person when looking UP, you'll see what i mean, i reckon.
lips too low.
sorry for being so pedantic... <: )
have fun. Alex Pass
replies: "Hehe, be as pendantic as you like. I agree with you completly. However I rarely go back to old pictures and this one will never get changed. Thanks for commenting."

i don't understand why people would even think of elves to be muscled like hell, even elven warriors. I think it should be like the way you have drawn it. You don't need to be a over muscled warrior to be deadly. I imagine elves rather relying on fast moving and dodging things as well as good aimed hits if they fight with a sword or something like that. I doubt they have the pysique to aquire great strength. (if they use a sword at all...)
Anyway, awesome pic Alex Pass
replies: "Thanks very much. Yeah a more slender build is definatly for the elf about town. And looking at him now (a good two years after drawing him) I think an elf with such a heavy sword looks kind of odd. Still, makes a change from a bow "
