A mermaid on a beach caught in a fishermans net. Reasonably pleased with this one - look it even has a background 8-O - don't like her mouth though and her tail looks too much like feet. Drawn in pencil, tinted blue in photoshop.

Woot! First comment. Actually, I like the way her tail looks like feet. It hints to the myth that mermaids could change thier tail to legs and walk on land. Very well done.

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Oh well when you put it like that, everything's okay! 1 Cheers."

If shes caught in a net wouldnt she be frustrated, looks almost like shes pleasuring herself[chuckles]

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Tsk, some people... 10 Maybe she does look... pleasured, I dunno. To be honest she doesn't look overly tangled in that net. Maybe she wants to be caught 12"

Maybe she wants to be caught for some human to find her and fall madly in love with her forever.Than again maybe she wants to be fish bait?I dunno the anatomy is in very good detials and I love her expression.I cant draw expressions.

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Sounds like a good story to me. The human finding her, not the fish bait. Cheers."

I think it looks as though she might be in the process of changing her tail into human legs, so her secret would be safe... and maybe it's a strenuous process? Lol. I love it.

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Ah... yes... that's what I meant it to be... honest 12 Cheers"

I always wanted to draw something similar! Very well done! Maybe when she turns her tail to feet she will say "ha! I'm not a mermaid so set me free!" LOL

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Lol, a cunning plan 2 You should draw something similar. If you do, let me know."

hey u c the tail should not bend in a particular place cos she wont have a joint there. Imagine her anatomy and bone structure, the spine would continue to the edge of the tail. it would look a lot more natural . otherwise gr8 pic and i love the way u did it in blue.

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Not sure I understand you. If the spine continues down the tail, surely it can bend wherever it wants to? Maybe if it was less sharp and angle? Cheers for commenting."

I notice someone already said so... But i like the fgoot-like appearance of the tail, b4 i read the despriction, i thought she was begining to morph to have human legs... Very nice.

:-) Alex Pass replies: "Well that's a good enough reason for me 2 Cheers"
