I saw this pose one day and had to sketch a character in a similar manner. Taima(pronounced Tah-ee-muh),was the lover of an immortal. She was a realist and knew his 'secret', and accepted the fact that if they were to remain together, that she would eventually die. ..the twist being, he finds out that there are Immortals in her family; that Taima herself may be as well. He wars with himself for a while about whether or not it can possibly be...he wishes to be with thiswoman forever...therefore, he wakes her one evening, and while she's still in a dreamy state, hew utters those famous last words, and 'kills' her...not knowing if she will awake from it and in fact, be an Immortal as he is...conveniently enough, she was... though not given the choice in the matter...she's extremely bitter,sarcastic and a cynic...How can you live with someone for eternity who seemed to betray you? ..a little complicated. ::Shrug:: (needs work..)

It's interesting how artists in recent times have no fear of craopping pictures to bring out the drama....the photograph has taught us to "frame" the image so it becomes abstract lines and forms and shapes in space. The diagonal movement is a very good and strong choice for composition. I can see this as an etching or a watercolor. Alisha 'Li' A. Hay replies: "Thank you so much for the amazing comment.
