I've been doing a lot of painting lately, I'm really starting to get into watercolour. This lovely lady is Vila, a northern european goddess who was a shapeshifter and protected forests and forest animals. She could become a snake, swan, horse or falcon, but normally appeared as a winged woman in glistening clothes with golden hair that fell to her feet.

Everything about he is beautiful! I love everything about it, she looks soft and kind yet powerful and strong. Just what a woman should be, you portray it amazingly.

Vilia or Vilja was used as the basis for a song in Lehar’s "The Merry Widow". Written in German, there are several English Translationd.

This from a school song fits your picture.
Vilia, oh Vilia, you rule in the wood
O’er blossoms, bees and the tiny bird brood.
Vilia, oh Vilia, your rule I’ll obey.
Sweet Vilia, love me, I pray

As sung by Jeannette Macdonald in the "Merry Widow" film --
There once was a vilia, a witch of the wood,
A hunter beheld her alone as she stood,
The spell of her beauty upon him was laid,
He look’d and he longed for the magical maid!
For a sudden tremor ran,
Right thro’ the love bewilder’d man,
And he sigh’d as a hapless lover can.

Vilia, O Vilia! The witch of the wood!
Would I not die for you, dear, if I could?
Vilia, O Vilia, my love and my bride!
Softly and sadly he sigh’d

Apparently the spirit or Goddess, while protecting the woods and woodland creatures, had a darker aspect with regard to humans.
