| 21 Dec 2003 | Kali | Loading...soo----- cute!!!!!! it's like the kelpies from harry potter, in the magical creatures book i got for, some holiday. they can take shape of anythang, usually a pretty woman, and lure ppls, guys mostly, mabe gay girls, into a bog and like, kill them, i dunno, something like that. really really cool!!!! JB Amanda Grace Magdalena Racz replies: "I haven't seen any of the companions to the Harry Potter series. I would like to get them though. (Mostly for my sons, but I love Harry as well.) In most stories I have heard, the Kelpie was a beautiful horse that lured riders on her back and then ran into the sea to devour her rider. But it is also said one can keep a kelpie as long as she can never see the water. Much like selkie who can make a man a good wife as long as she never finds her seal skin. There are MANY Celtic goddesses identified with horses as well. Like Rhiannon or Epona who were, as many goddesses are, also known for their beauty. Sometimes I wish Rhiannon was a kelpie and when her husband forced her to bare riders as a horse, she could just run off to the sea and see that wicked husband to his end. But that's just me and my flare for drama, and vengance!" | |

| 9 Jan 2004 | Amanda Leigh Johnson | Loading...*to above commenter* Kelpies are hardly sweet
The eye is perfect. Very luring and beautiful. It just makes you want to go to it, which is what the beauty of a kelpie is supposed to do. Kudos to you! | |

| 6 Feb 2004 | Hyperactive type person | Loading...This is just...Wow. I love the way its mane sort of flows which is appropriate in the water. I can see a hippocampas looking like this, it doesen't look evil enough to be a flesh eating equine- exept when you find the horse is diving and you can't get off...... | |
| 28 Jun 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...Oh, wow. This is a wonderful picture- and do you have any other info on kelpies? I want to include one in my book, but I can't seem to find a desc. of one on the internet... and my 'Care of magical creatures' book is lost. Anyway, This pic is great! I love the mane and the background. | |
