SciFi and Fantasy Art Eilan the Amazon by Amanda Kümmel Magalhães

This is a very quick sketch (10 minutes) of Eilan, the amazon I've created in a flash for a single impromptu Greyhawk adventure. Eilan retired after that adventure... don't you just hate disposable characters? But I still have a soft spot in my heart for amazons, and braids tied with feathers. I tried to throw in a little resemblance to Tori Amos, can you tell? =)

3B pencil on paper, color added with Photoshop.

(read: I could never in a million squillon years do a sketch like that _and_ I'm not just saying it. You've got our Tori here and she'd be proud to be an amazon.) Amanda Kümmel Magalhães replies: "Yay!! Glad you found some resemblance. It didn't do her justice though. I will try to do a real Tori portrait one day. With all the fantasy touches, of course!"

3 Sep 2003	~Nenuwen~	Loading... You know what the first thing was I did after gazing at this sketch? I searched a picture of Tori Amos... (I'm sorry, but I knew her name, but not her face) And I'm really convinced now: you can REALLY find Tori somewhere in this picture... I also have to say this is the first time I saw a female barbarian (I know, I know, I'm just a beginner) but I really think you drew her very well. I couldn't do this in my entire life, draw something as beautiful as this... :-/ Great work! You're so talented... sigh Amanda Kümmel Magalhães replies: "Thank you for your kind words! Female barbarians rock! (Except when they are depicted way too scantily clad - I mean, how can they protect themselves in those pathetic bikinis? Come on, some sense!) I tell ya, I gotta do a Tori-alike again. I really admire her a lot. In my opinion, her beauty is not as astonishing as Michelle Pfeiffer's for example, but it has something so captivating, so powerfully addictive... sigh"

Amanda Kümmel Magalhães replies: "Awww, thank you so much, glad you liked it! I guess sometimes when we're really inspired we just pour images out onto the paper in no time. It's almost as if they exist somewhere and all we have to do is copy them with a pencil..."
