	My first Mermaid! Her tail is slightly bending behind her, which kinda makes her look short.

1 Apr 2001	Jennifer Toal	Loading... You know what? I think she looks great. Who says mermaids have to be long and slender? She does look a little flattened, but most fish are flat bodied.
20 Apr 2001	Ashe	Loading... It's probably the hand behind the tail that's making her look short. Usually people don't see a mermaid with an arm long enough to hide behind a slightly curved tail, so our perceptions are off.
25 Apr 2001	Amy J. Reinhofer	Loading... What's a "frist mermaid"? Haha! I'm soooo funny. Anyway, I think Ashe is correct. Her hand disappears behind her tail, and her tail looks like it's a ways behind her. Besides messing with people's perception, I really like her! The colors are so unique and pretty, and I would've never thought of making her tail flat. Usually when I draw merpeople, I make their tails like cones, but this is really cool. And the detailing in her hair is just awesome! ^_^ I LOVE her hair, it's so beautiful! I think she has a sweet face as well.
19 Apr 2003	Sandra Leigh Wagner	Loading... a good fix for the tail issue. If you make the end of the tail bigger/wider as if its closer to her head, you can leave the rest as is and the hand behind it and still keep your perspectives. That's all this is, a perspective problem. Really good though, perspective aside! YOu might even be about to fix in photoshop without extensive (and oft impossible) redrawing! Just select the tail fin and use the 'perspective' tool under edit. Widen the top, maybe the bottom and reblend and viola! PERFECT picture!
4 Aug 2003	Talented one	Loading... Hi um she look like a midget (not trying to be rude )and fat but i liked your other pics i cant do color like that but the picture is cute cause it looks like a midget ecseped her hair its a little to long
30 Nov 2003	Anonymous	Loading... I think it looks great, you definately are talented in the coloring. But I've seen this image before in an Evian water magazine ad. Copying, or figuring from, images is good for beginning. As you get more into your work, try your best to stray from drawing from anything but your own imagination.
