| 4 Feb 2006 | M.Botelho | excellent work, I can so see it in books. Christian S. Francies replies: "Thanks. I have considering wrting this story in text, but I've also wanted to do it as a web-comic, sometime in the future. . .Maybe I'll do both. " | |
| 2 Mar 2006 | Carlton Wagner | You have a really good start. I really like your furre style though the way you draw the legs almost gives them a birdlike look. The hands and paws are a bit of a different style as well. But I really like the faces. And though our opinions about J.R.R. Tolken differs, I'll definately keep an eye on your work. Christian S. Francies replies: ""Bird-like" you say? I would kinda have to agree; they're quite the way I would like them to look, but it's close. Thanks for your comments. As for comment referring to J.R.R. Tolkien, well, "to each his own." Thanks for taking the time to read my novel of a bio. " | |
| 17 Mar 2006 | Pamela Graham | Wow, i really like ur pictures, they're all looking very professional! They are all really good! Byyyeeeee!!!! =) Christian S. Francies replies: "Thanks. "professional" you say? I wouldn't say that; I've got a long way to go, but thanks for the comment anyway. " | |
| 27 Jul 2006 | Zackeeay(Za'ay) | I really like this art!I hate when people think i'm older than i am.I get picked on a lot at school for my vocab being so big,so i've been working on shortening it.I'm way 2 qiuet 4 my own good and i hate that 2!!I'm also a major book worm at my school.People always say I didn't have to read the books i do until i'm in highschool, but oh well Christian S. Francies replies: "Thanks! You say people complain that your vocabularly is too big? Here's what I say: "Who cares?" If you like to use big words, then use them. Who cares what others say. Just be yourself." | |
| 6 Aug 2006 | Joshua "TwilightPhoenix" Price | Out of curiosity, you are not very clear by what you mean "low-brow", "crass", or "wrong things to a character." What do you mean by all that? People who write whatever comes to mind? People who write stuff for those who think below the belt? Terrible stories in general? Can you simply be more clear? And I have to disagree about Tolkien inventing fanatasy. I had to do research on him and much of his ideas comes from previous works and authors, like the writer of Beowulf and Homer's Illiad as well as mythology. A good writer still, even if I don't particularly like his style, but your giving him a little too much credit there. You may find this article interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_fantasy Oh yea, this is an art gallery... Nice gallery on a whole. I like it when people make actual furries/anthros instead of attacking ears and tail to a girl and calling her an anthropomorph. Not a bad artist, and certainly better than anything I'll ever be able to draw. I also like how I don't see that stereotypical anime style. That one gets on my nerves. Christian S. Francies replies: "First of all, thanks for the comment.I'm not sure how to describe what I mean by low-brow. I guess I mean I hate it when people arn't interested in acutally being "artsy." Like when a person draws a half-naked (or worse) female elf, and calls the picture a peice of art, when it has no point to it other than to satisfy base-brain tidilations. That's just one example of what people tend to do that I hate.As for your comment about Tolkien: I guess what I really meant was that Tolkien "reinvinted" fantasy as we know it today. The fantasy genre could be very different today without his contribution. You may not care for his writing much, but as I like to say, "To each his own." Thanks for the interesting link too.I have to agree with you on furries; I've never liked that "perfectly normal human + ears & tail," look either. Same goes your comment on anime; I hate the over-the-top-anime-for-the-sake-of-anime style. Those dang chibies are creepy. . .Thanks again for the comment. " | |
| 1 Apr 2007 | Anonymous | Im quite new to drawing ( only done it for a week if you dont count the time ive been draving in my school books ), i love these... furries or anthro (whatever its called) pictures and i was wondering if you could put up a farp tutorial about how to make them. THen perhaps one day i will be able to draw something that actually is worth putting out on elfwood. Some people seems to be putting anything out on elfwood they have spent more then 30 seconds on... i (almost) hate those ppl. according to me you are one of the better artists on elfwood. ever looked on jenn (osiecki?)'s gallery? Sorry for wasting your time on readngmyoment Christian S. Francies replies: "Thanks. I'm really sorry that I haven't responded to this in almost a month; I've been in a hellish point in my life recently. As for posting a FARP tutorial, though I appreciate your suggestion, I honestly don't I'm skilled or prestigious enough to do so. But if you'd like me too, I may consider it." | |
