There`s still one more part to come John! I`m afraid it`s a bit shorter than the rest, but it concludes Chloe`s story for now. It`s currently waiting to checked out by the moderators, but hopefully it may be up over the weekend sometime or shortly after. I`ve thought about writing a follow up a few years on from where the story has left off now, I`ve a few ideas for it but nothing certain as yet. I have a couple of other rough ideas for stories that I may try first, and being kind of new around here I`d like to spend sometime checking out other peoples stories, so I`ll be looking in on yours soon too! I`ve been really flattered by your comments, and I`d like to offer my thanx again, you`ve been very encouraging and I hope you find some of my future postings just as enjoyable. Amellie X

Excellent! I’ll be looking out for the concluding chapter! Don’t thank me for the comments...I thank YOU for keeping me interested! 2 I’ll be on the lookout for more of your work!

Hi Amellie, guess what? I read the last chapter! Go in and read the comments, because I was very excited! I really like stories that tug at the heart-strings, and this one certainly does that! I have always been a big fan of fantasy, and I feel that this story took fantasy to a great level of thinking and decision-making. Your main character was well-developed, and her decisions were tough. Through it all, this story was great.
PLEASE post more!
I can’t wait to read them!

Amellie,
Thank you so much for sharing this story. I was very much moved by Chloe’s struggle, and I loved the long, recurring, and richly described transformation! Thanks so much! I have shared this link with a mermaid group, and I’m hopeful you get several other comments.

Gratefully,

Patricia

Amellie,
I have not visited Elfwood in a while, so looking for mermaid stories I came to yours. I agree wholeheartedly with John and Patricia’s comments, so I want to add my own. It reminds me of listening ro Ravel’s "Bolero". It starts off mildly, and slowly builds to a huge emotional crescendo for Chloe at the end.
This story has to be one of the best I’ve read in a while, and left me with goosebumps building up, all the way.

If I have any criticisms, it could use some editing. I apologise beforehand, but I had to do some myself, so that it was more readable to me personally. It could be something to think about for your next story, which I hope comes soon.
Keep up the good work, and please keep on writing.

Patrick

Thankyou Patricia and Robert for your kind comments. I`d like to apologise for the undoubted errors in punctuation and editing and so forth, but I`m glad they did`nt spoil your enjoyment of the story. I`d like to come back to Chloe one day and perhaps add a sequel, but at the same time I`m hesitant to do this as I kind of like the way it ended, ie, somethings were left unresolved, just like real life I guess! On a different note I guess I`m around halfway through a story based on a she-wolf. Unfortunately things have slowed somewhat on that for the time being as I`ve found little time of late for writing. I hope mermaid fans, like me, will enjoy it when I finally get around to finishing it. I hope to make it at least a little bit more grammatically correct than The Island. NO promises though! Thankyou agin for your comments. Amellie XX.

Hi, Amellie. I just loved your island story. I hope you’ll do more of them. And I hope you’ll do a followup to your "The Island" story. I hope you’ll continue this story and have some more people come to the island and have them do what Chole did and become Mermaids themselves. I hope you might even have a male or a few, who are really nice and decent and who Chole’s lover thinks are nice and kind and offer them the chance to become Mermaids themselves. I’ve read stories by other writers where they have changed a male into a female and also changed them into Mermaids after that. I would just love to see that happen in a "Part 2" of the island story.

I’ve wrote some Mermaid transformation stories myself and you might see them on Seatails. They have some good stuff on there too. I wonder what would be the reaction if Chole’s family had the chance to see her as a Mermaid. It woud also have been nice to see her family and friends become Mermaids like her. Guess that’s all from now.

Hi, again. I just love reading The Island over and over again. It looks and feels so real. I picture myself as another Mermaid along with Chloe and her other Mermaid lover.

I picture myself as being with them, interacting with them, as their lover and sister and friend. I picture myself swiming underwater with them, and us sitting on a rock, each of us putting our tails on top of theirs and petting our tails with our tailfins.

I really hope there is another part to this story. Like everyone else, I want to see it continue.

In closing, I have a question for you. Can Chloe and her lover dive down past "crush-depth" with no harm to themselves? I hope they can.

Love:

Hey Mermaida,

I`m not sure about another part to this story. I had a couple of ideas, but have to admit I`ve found it hard to think of ways to take it further. I like how it ended with their species endangered. Though it`s a fanatasy story it needs parts to be founded on reality, ie there are no quick fixes to their predicament.

I don`t see a way for any other character in the story to undergo the same exeriences Chloe did. I think its best that remains unique to her and that nobody fully knows what became of her.

The notion of the mermaids remaining secret from humans comes from the fact that I just like the idea of a species people don`t know about, therefore they can`t be "understood" or exploited by humans.

I guess I just don`t like the idea of mermen. They`re all wrong to me, and I took a small amount of pleasure in describing them and their fate in the story the way I did. I think mermaids are a girl thing and its cool that they can get along without men!

Yes I think Chloe, Madchenchja and their kind could all swim far down into the depths if it were necessary to remain unseen or if sometime in the future they needed to find new sources of food.

I`m glad you`ve enjoyed the story and thanx for your comments.

cool work you have here! I think it is a nice feat that you have finished your last chapter. Nice work. Beginning something is always the easy part, finishing it the hard one 12 Keep up the good work! And feel free to visit my little cozy corner too if like 2
