Its old One Eye!
Tell me please what were the names of his weapons. I know the spear was Gungnir but im sure there was a hammer and somthing else.. Oh well. looks a bit cold there.

:-) Johan Aronson replies: "I don't know if he had any other weapon, and have never heard about any hammer (perhaps you think of Thor's hammer Mjolnir?)"

it not really his weapons so much as the animals. the ravens are named Hugin (thought) and Munin (memory), they bring him news from everywhere, the wolves are Geri and Freki. not that they weapons isn't mighty, it certainly is a godborn's conveyance.

The allfather! Or as we like to call him,"Odin" which is the proper name for us Norwegians. I've heard Odins spear named as Grungir too, and Tors/Thors hammer as Mjolnir, Mjolne, Mjölner and Mjölne. Don't know so much more, anyone else? Tor is my favorite anyway :]

:-) Johan Aronson replies: "Yea, it's hard not to like Tor. Have to paint him too someday. 2"

Det må jeg sige!!!...Dett er et af de mest realistiske tegninger jeg har set af Odin!!

-----------

I must say!!!...this is one of the most realistic drawings i have ever seen of Odin!!

2 Johan Aronson replies: "Tack!"

Fimbultyr reminds me of the "Fimblewinter" from the game Age of Mythology......

Verry good.!

:-) Johan Aronson replies: "Not so strange as it's the same word. Fimbul-vinter = The great winter. Fimbul-tyr = The great god.
Oh, and thanks! 2"

This is a very good picture of Oden. One of the better i have seen. Though I am missing his horse Sleipner.

He is my favorite of the northen gods, and the one who most readly awnsers prayers directed to him (in my experience). The other gods awnser too, but not with the same frequency.

:-) Johan Aronson replies: "Thanks! I have to say it's extra fun to hear those words from someone who believes in the old gods. It's funny though, I've always seens Odin as a god mainly for lords and warriors, but he "works" good for ordinary people too you say?"
