SciFi and Fantasy Art mermaid (...sorta..) by Amy ´Mishi´ Gorman

Hi! This is my first piece here. I can't find too much 'fantasy artwork', most of it's modern.. I suppose I should get an account on Zone 47 as well. ^_^ Anyway, about the picture.. this was done around winter/fall of 2000, so looking back on it, I don't like some things such as the face, fin/wing things, and the arm. One of the legs look a little weird too. But this picture was a big accomplishment for me and the colors turned out pretty good. That's glitter in the background, by the way. Only a little of it scanned. Questions? Comments? Critiques? :)

13 Jun 2004	Kramer	Loading... Yeah - it's true...you CAN draw. You don't need to be told that you have a gift like many of us here in Elfwood. I applaude you, Texan. I really don't think you need much help. You could make really good money by drawing the covers of fantasy books and stuff. Just a suggestion though. Good Luck w/ the rest! You're doin' great!
22 Aug 2004	Peter Malone <Petermalone@hot...com&g	Loading... Very nice I like the Originality of this pic. Seems to be a new species (maybe an alien mermaid). I think the wings are nice, it would be questionable if she could use them to fly with out of the water though. I also like the tail. Now is that starfish a tattoo? I also think you should forget about boxing/framing your work with in lines, since not all the work is in the line anyway and it leaves you open to draw a bit more of a background.
