I once created a whole race of elves, with their own (very complex) language, writing and body features. I can't quite remember what they are called, or any of the language, except that the elves use the patterns on their skin (which they are born with) as a sort of caste system; the more markings the higher they are in their society.

Therefore, the old looking one with the eyelashes is very well thought of and has a lot of power, whilst the little baby one is not worth much and will spend its life picking up the old one's rubbish. No one ever said these were fair elves.
