Tag As FavoriteComment		The rim of the sun slide from behind Oceanus. Light spilled across the dunes. The Avarclon gave a low moan of despair. His eyes were dull and glazed. His flesh shrank and melted beneath the skin. Aeriel could see his bones.
'What is it?' she cried softly. 'What is happening?'
The starhorse moaned again and shuddered. 'Avaric!' he cried.
'Avaric, Avaric!'

(From 'The Darkangel Trilogy' by Meredith Pierce... I guess you might have to read it to understand what's happening ^_^ ... and i did intend for Aeriel to look younger ;) )

oh my god Annah this is breath taking. I love it. Im trying to image myself as the girl watching this beautiful creature decay before her eyes and i simply can’t. the emotion of this piece is amazing, so brutally dark. but at the same time very peaceful. its as if the starhorse is shedding it’s skin to become lighter and less weighed down. love love love. i am most certainly going to read this trilogy. i might even put up some pieces of my own based on it. thank you for this.
