~**(A Little Riddle)**~

 

                               Up and down they run all day –

Jump and stumble, flow and sway

                                                                                     May seem heavy, though light as air;

                            Being foul may still seem fair.

                                                                                                                                All around where’er you go –

                                                                                                Jump and stumble, sway and flow…

                  But in silence you might find:

                                                              They live also in your mind.

Hee hee!! This is great! It makes me happy yes! *grin* I like it! It has energy to it.. my first thought was thoughts... but yeah... *grin* I like this!Thanks! "Thoughts" is close, but perhaps I need to rephrase this a bit. Thoughts seems like an obvious thing from the last line.

Oooooo this is great! The first riddle i've seen on elfwood! Hhmmm...I read the comments, tho, before i actually thought about it myself (silly mistake...) but i agree its either thoughts, or memories, but rather the unconcious thoughts that slip through your fingers and you discard, when really those thoughts are your pure emotions..Hmm...Yeah, in my opinion there isn't enough riddles around. I should make some more later.

First I just want to say that all of my co-workers and all got it wrong...our answers were thoughts, dreams and ideas (yes, all very related). Elisa says it was very clever of you to say the answer was louder than thoughts 12 Clever, clever, clever...sly little thing you are. I'm glad I read the comments though, so I wouldn't agonize over the answer. You know what's strange though? It still puts an image of unicorns in my head...maybe its intending me to put them into words2 Bye now! -K

cool riddle, there is a couple more on Alyssa R. George's page, and there's a link to her page on mine (note the sly little self promotion there) but yeah, i would have said thoughts then i read the rest of the comments and found out the answer...he he he

Sweet! Riddles can be stupid, incrediblely cool, or anywhere in between. This one was definitely far closer to the latter extreme. Great job. I guessed thoughts, but words it is.

I didn't figure it out at first, but that's OK for me. I believe that the value of a riddle is the thoughts that it puts you into. And then, after the deep thought in its properties that the riddle puts you into, finding (or reading!) the answer, you see the word in a new complete way as someone had just explained it to you before a moment. Even if you were using this term every day. On this aspect it was a good riddle, but I personally prefer riddles that reveals human thoughts and desires..

So is "words" the answer? At first I guessed dreams, then read a few comments where apparently you had dismissed that notion. So I guessed again with "words" which seemed to fit better, and it looks like some other people also guessed that.

Anyway, very nice. Riddles are tough things, but fun. I like the flow of this one.
