Photo Manipulation! (original photo taken by me not too far from my home; I just had this idea...)

I can't really come up with a decent description about this. I was just looking at this block and had several ideas. One is about this black ether - some ethereal being from my stories.

I'm pretty happy with how the shadow turned out, it is supposed to look a bit scary (but only a bit - he's rather friendly) and a bit mysterious and have those yellow eyes - a must. This concept is not, however, too well defined, and it varies from story to story and thought to thought depending on how I like it. But it must have those black curves, no defined details about the body and the yellow eyes. The shape of the curled hair also has to be seen a bit better. For some ideas, its smile has to be interesting.

The same being in a bit different way can also be seen in my other black-ether picture named... can you gues?? ...  "A black ether" :).

Wowww that is creepy! But I think you achieved exactly the mysterious, haunting effect you wanted. It’s like this building has a dark secret... maybe like the black thing isn’t visible to people but is a ghostly manifestation of the darkness and danger that lies inside. The picture is perfect too, with the shadowy color scheme and the slight blur. Well done.

:-) Anca Raluca Sandu replies: "I think the picture was done on a winter, early evening (lights are on inside the people’s houses already) and part of the blurr is because the low light, insuficient for a better picture. But thanks for the detailed observation, I really apreciate it. As for the ether, this is one of the few pictures tha tactually turned out the way it was supposed to. Really, the neck is almost unexistant because the creature is a little leaned forwards (like a hunch). When ths pose is present, usually, he acts as a gardian - unofficial... - of a city."

Gladys: Stu, there is this funny black stuff outside my window!
Stuart: Don’t worry Glad, the fire department will take care of it.
Gladys: Does not smell like smoke.
Stuart: I will call the super and he will sort it out!

Looks interesting.
Am tempted to do a study of this.

:-) Anca Raluca Sandu replies: "Thank you, I could only be glad to see how your version would look!"

It looks neither friendly nor unfriendly. I like it (:

:-) Anca Raluca Sandu replies: "I’m glad it gives this neutrality impression. This character is rather mysterious a long time, until it finally shows its colors. And don’t forget that it is a character I like, so.... there’s only one possibility! 2 Thanks."

Sweet! Thats pretty cool! 2 It looks like a giant octuupus and it’s faded out like the picture is so it fits pretty well.

:-) Anca Raluca Sandu replies: "This is a picture I like myself very much. The other ether isn’t so great, though it should have been more apropriate. I couldn’t get the specific position I wanted for him in the other one... but this picture is close enough.
I wouldn’t want to see this from my window, though... he’s friendly, but still..."

Wow! Your painting and the lighting in the photo go together to creat an awesome effect!11

:-) Anca Raluca Sandu replies: "I usually have thing being staying on top of things, usually tall buildings. I’m glad the effect came out well!"

Awesome. Reminds me of Lovecraft.

:-) Anca Raluca Sandu replies: "Thanks, it didn’t occur to me. But I do like such flowing shapes, more or less resembling smoke or velvety tentacles. I drew more of such black ethers lately... I just need to find some time to upload them."
