A pleasant bookshelf to grace by. You're certainly worth the read. I have to note the contrast between your older stories and your newer two. However, Mother's Gift is my favourite of your older stories. Likewise, The Brass Cross is my favourite of your new stories. What attracted me to your bookshelf was your awesome comment on Michael G Keith's homepage on his stories about Rakkor, even before I took the chance read his works. Could you hand me a few of those great comments? At the moment, though, I have a story lined up with a ticket (Unicorn) and it's not up yet, so could you come see that one after a couple weeks, when it gets up? Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "Vicki Sue ... what can I say? Your constructive commentary was just excellent ... and your willingness to risk possibly offending someone by giving real criticism instead of "oh cool!" in order to help them improve as a writer is truly commendable. I encourage others to check your stuff out too ... just so you get the readers that I know we all crave."
Hi Andrew, Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on so many of my stories! You're right about so many of my influences - Le Guin, Cherryh, Aldiss, Heinlein... Wonderful writing. I'll quickly comment on something of yours, and hope to come back later as well. I like comments because I like to think of readers following the links around the community, which is one of my favorite games. *nodnods* Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "welcome, welcome ... "

“An eye for an eye and the world would soon be blind.” – Hah, not in Elfwood my good friend Ghandi. Thanks for stopping by and taking the effort to provide some heady lit-crit, I’d hoped to at least return the favor!
I just read “Dell”, and while I don’t know about the rest of the story, the opening was pretty cool. Okay, okay, so I just like soldiers. Legionaries are good to. But the back-story was quite cool (the banners etc) while not being heavy handed. Kudos. I commented on the story you don’t think much of because that’s what everyone has done to me
History is a great subject. I’m taking all the “useless” ones in 6th Form – History 19th Century, English Literature, Government and Politics and Philosophy. How I will ever get a practical job is beyond me. Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "thanks Philip ... I always try to provide constructive advice where its worth it. I'm glad you enjoyed my story. As to the history thing ... if you like it ... take it. "
Hi, finally coming for a much-delayed tour of your work. I must say, I'm very impressed with your style - very clean and understated without being too dry. You have a great instinct for exactly how much detail is enough. (Think you could distil that talent and pass it on, please?) I especially liked 'Dell' and 'Mother's Gift'. If I had any suggestions, they'd mainly be for minor, fiddly punctuation and so on, particularly with commas ... but nothing important. Terrific library here - please drop me a line when you update! And merry Christmas! Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "HIgh praise Alyssa ... thanks indeed (and I will trade you ... if you can teach me to write humour I will teach you my concise style ...)"
You have some excellent pieces in your library, no question about it. I was a little disappointed by Dell, but the others have sustained enough interest in me to return once I've had some sleep to read the rest of your work. Even in Dell, though, your writing was enthralling and well constructed, just the ending lacked depth.
You have a fan. Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "Thanks very much Ben ... I really appreciate your input ... thoughtful and appropriate."
How strange. After I added my nickname 'Clio,' I stumbled upon your clearing in the Woods. I love history, by the way. Did you know that Clio was the muse of history? How does one inspire history? But I just thought that was a tid bit ironic. Don't you?
(ramblings, ramblings)
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love your work. I can never seem to figure out how to write a fight scene. ::grimaces:: Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "irony is fine with me ... (and I did know about 'clio' ...)"
You just got my 400th comment! As I mentioned in my reply, I would offer a dedication, but I'm still working on the one I offered for the 200th, so instead, if you have any stories that you want critiqued, I'm more than willing to do that for you.
Just looking at your library, though, you haven't updated in quite a while...
Anyway, thanks for reading and commenting! Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "thanks Ben ... a kind offer. At the moment I have nothing. Since September I have been working a 70 hour a week job ... and I have two small children. I have very little free time. I have only been back here recently because I got a comment from someone. I have a couple of stories running around my head that will leap out at some point. The most recent piece is the one titled Keet three ... and it doesn't actually have any comments yet ... so feel free."
Hello! *waves* Just thought I'd come for a quick visit! Just want to say thanks again for commenting on my mods choice story. I might have a bit more of a look around here later but I've noticed that I've already been here ages ago and wrote you a comment for your mods choice story!! Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "well ... so you have ... but you must not have been signed in then so I probably never returned the favour until now."

I'm Andrew's sister and I have to point out that my niece was born in July...not August! Cheers. Andrew R. Wynn-Williams replies: "*rolls eyes*"
