| In reading a book about flowers I found that the Daffodil was involved in a Welsh legend of the Elyited Field, or Field of the dead. It said that the flower once covered the ground of this such place and is now used in funerals |

The Rose of Elyited Field
A golden light, transcending sight
Of a guided soul in the Welsh moonlight
A golden bell, its chime to tell
To blanket the soul that fell
A sky of storm, the walls have worn
A land unseen and yet to form
Through a carpet of gold, a wind blows cold
Asleep yet awakened, the tales to be told
A box of dark guild, 'low the midday build
A bed in the ground still yet to be filled
A cover of gold, o're a body of old
Not quilt but only a fold
A bell to chime, til the end of time
The pleading cries of a frozen mime
A pain to be healed, through a golden shield
The rose of Elyited Field
