Great expression on her face, and the hair is lovely.

The hands are a bit small but the facial expression is good and the hair(unlike all of mine ) actually looks like it's under water! kudos

ok first of all sirens are bird like creatres that pearched on rocks waitng to sing to fishermen to kill them. second of all she is well draw though. But still it's not a Siren and anyway a Siren is spelled Psyrin.

Sandra has her sirines confused with harpies. I think this pic is great.

Yay... I am a mermaid fan too... and as mermaids go... this is a real looker. I like the perspective in the tale and I love her face... she is so pretty. The wavy hair rocks too!!! Keep up the good looking mermaids

but the thing I love the most is her tail.. I love the shape.. it's pretty unusual and at the same time kinda... hmm.. narf..I dunno, but it's a great tail!!!

I think the difference is that I made the tail seem more fleshy, more like the warm skin of a dolphin than scaly like a fish.

Hmm..so, what _IS_ the difference between mermaids and sirens? I know that sirens make boats crash by their singing and music, but what are the other differances..?

Same difference as there are between Americans and Africans, Asians and Europeans, I guess. Genetic drift.Colors. Size. Type. Basically I think sirens are supposed to be sleeker, more exotic/sexy looking. It's like comparing a femme fatale and the girl-next door.Both beautiful but with a different attraction.

Great drawing! Very beautiful... One thing I should criticize about though is that perhaps her shading should be smoothed and blended? It would probably look a lot better ^_^

I love the flow of the hair. Also, I like the use of texture, I don't necessarily think the shading should be blended out. My suggestion would be to perhaps add in some waves, either in the background or foreground. You already have a wonderful sense of wind with the hair, but it really should be supported by another windy element.

As for this sad debate as to the nature of sirens. A siren can be either the same as a mermaid, or a bird-woman, or many other things. To the Greeks, they were bird-women. Today, it's more confusing, a siren is whatever you want it to be. I've seen this debate EVERYWHERE on Elfwood. People should really stop criticising people's takes on fantasy, whether they are "correct" or not. If I want to draw a mermaid and call it a siren, a centaur or a rhinoceros for that matter, that's my right, deal with it.
