| A short poem that I wrote a couple of years ago. |
|
As I sailed in I saw the pillars hewn from moonstone
Even as sunlight floods the upper chambers
Silver moonlight bathes the court
Torches of orange, green, and violet flame
Illuminates the corridors within the innermost castle
Somewhere within these sacred halls
A sorceress wanders; carrying in her hand a basket
Filled with silent blue flame.
Deeper into the corridors she wanders
Searching for something laying long undisturbed and forgotten
The buds blossom with only the distant white lights to see
They are curious of this lonely figure walking where no
Creature has walked since the time of Camelot
The star beings look down upon her in wonder
From their heavenly placement in an ebony sky.
She walks slowly but never faltering on the old stone
Her robes are new with pale colors, untattered, and well stored
Yet she is covered in soft dust that has clung to her
In hopes to see her quarry, the thing she hunts so tirelessly
And then she comes to the great doors of a hallowed chamber
Within lies a king, resting now as he has for centuries past
It is time to awaken for the world is not what it once was
And a great adventure awaits those who go with courage
And a magnificent story unfolds to those who wander tirelessly.
