Then Thingol looked upon Beren in scorn and anger; but Melian was silent. 'Who are you,' said the King, 'that come hither as a thief, and unbidden dare to approach my throne?' But Beren being filled with dread, for the splendour of Menegroth and the majesty of Thingol were very great, answered nothing. Therefore Lúthien spoke, and said: 'He is Beren son of Barahir, lord of Men, mighty foe of Morgoth, the tale of whose deeds is become a song even among the Elves.'

This is lovely. Thingol is my favorite elf of all time (unorthodox, I know). Have you thought of doing a picture of Thingol and Melian's meeting? It's one of my favorite Silmarillion scenes.Yes, that's a beautiful scene. Perhaps I'll do it one day.

It is beautiful. You are extremely gifted, Anke-Katrin, and you must be thankful. Many people in the world dream and wish for such talent, yet find it not. You put hope in my heart.

I have seen your artwork in numerous places and I must say that you have sure captured my thoughts. For we must see alike for how you do your art, I read and see in my mind. You are the best artist that I have seen that does work based on the works of Tolkien. You should be very proud.

SúlWell, when I look at my paintings I see what can be improved, so it's hard to be very proud 12. But I appreciate nice comments like yours.

Wow! Impressive art all around for the Simarrilion illustrations! VERY impressive! I am also glad to see some Eowyn/Faramir fanart, but Faramir really ought to have longer hair ;_;Hm, I've always imagined him with short hair for some reason.

Wow. I like this view and the scenery, no wonder Beren was speechless.

I just love Thingol's crown. Is that what he wears, according to the books? (Sorry, haven't read all of The Silmarillion.) And is that the Nauglamir he's wearing? It's beautiful, much more so than I imagined.

Thank you to the person who commented about the light of Aman in Thingol's eyes. I heartily agree.

Same as everybody, I love Melian and her veil.

Your costume designs are stupendous! I especially like the embroidery you so often put on the edges of robes.

What I find so impressive about this painting is you created so many different textures by only using watercolors. From Melian’s sheer veil to Thingol silken robes, everything seems to have the feel of it’s fabric. I also love the subtle detailing you have on the royal couple’s clothes; very beautiful.

Wow, you’ve really captured how I imagine the Court of Menegroth to look in my imagination! I love how wide and detailed everything is, including the people within it. Another spectacular work!
