| 14 Sep 2004 | Lady of Rivendell | Loading...You are an amazing artist and I think that you do a wonderful job, the colors and the schemes that you do are fantastic, the only thing I think is that Frodo looks a little old, but I guess I always pictured him younger looking. And with regards to the previous comments about adding Arwen to the Escape from the Black Riders instead of Glorfindel, I think that was very smart of Peter Jackson. I mean think of it, why would you introduce a new boy character that the watcher will never see or hear from again aside from this one scene? It makes no sense. However by addding Arwen, you establish the connection between her and Aragorn, you get Frodo to Rivendell and you remember her when she turns up later in the movie and you don't have to worry about knowing extra characters. I think Peter Jackson did a fantastic job on the movies and no one could have done a better job. So no bad comments! But the picture that you did once more is amazing!Hm, I don't agree to that. I can see that Arwen needed to be introduced, but what bothers me about the scene at the Fords of Bruinen is that she's on that horse with Frodo. In the book Frodo faces the Black Riders ALONE, and his courage is shown in that scene. In the movies, especially the first, he gets helped in every situation he's in danger. Sorry, but that should have been solved differently. | |

I thought it was a great addition for it was like the Elves were making one last stance with men before they left Middle Earth forever. It was honour and valour that kept them there and to go help. I mean they choose to die and fight alongside protecting men when they could have left to the Grey Havens. It was a fitting tribute to the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Great picture once more! And Asfaloth glows so brilliantly! As for Elves in Helms Deep, for me it destroys the notions of what the Elves were supposed to be at the End of the Third Age. Plus, the scenes of Elves under military drill looked plain ridiculous.
| 16 Sep 2004 | Merry Wanderer of the Night | Loading...Yes. . . but there was no Glorfindel. . . I liked Glorfindel. I agree that Peter Jackson did a excellent job, but he keeps replacing characters. Imharil was replaced with a horse. A HORSE! Not to mention he killed Haldir off. . . How could he do that to Haldir? You can't just kill off a character like that. . . especially under those circumstances. I mean, Elves at Helms Deep? Come on. Haldir shouldn't have died. He was never in Helms deep to begin with. *goes off to cry for the wrongful death of Haldir.*
Anyway, yes, great picture! Asfaloth absolutely glows! Thanks a lot.

He dies defending Lorien's boarders from the Moria Orcs that attack. It's in... Bugger can't remember... But he does get killed (and Craig Parker loved the idea ^_^) Anyhoo... I love this pic, and I do agree that it would of been a stronger image of Frodo if he had stood alone. They made him such a whimp in the FOTR. But I did really enjoy the films and they did a great job. But your art has me spellbound! Its hard not to comment on all the pics so maybe I'll go to the first page and gush there.... Namarie (Galadriel, who actually looks more like an Arwen, but meh)

| 27 Mar 2006 | Anon. | Loading...Yeah, the movies messed a lot of things up. I had read the books looooooooooong before that and when the movies came out, I had to read them again and went *GASP* what did they do to them!!!?!?!?!?!?!?! I really intensily disliked Arwen, even in the books and when she showed up taking Frodo to Rivendale I nearly burst. I have yet to see the movie that does this scene correctly... I have seen another animated one where it is Legolas that shows up and Frodo rides alone, but I wish that they would put Glorfindel back!!!! AGH!!!
The only thing in the movie that I liked that wasn't in the book was the elimination of Tom Bombidil (I never really liked him... Sorry to any Tom fans...)
I LOVED Sam however... I have always loved Sam... And I think that Rosey looked too old and *cheshire cat grinnish* for him... Ah well, he was happy... I LOVE SAM!!!! Gandalf was awesome as well...
Oh, the picture... Uh, yeah, this was great! Absolutely great! I loved the Black Riders in the Fellowship and was intensely disappointed when they leave in the next two books. Well, they don't leave, but they never strike the fear in my heart in TT or ROTK that they once did in FOTR... Ah well... Frodo should be a little older... Yet another misgiving in the movie is that Frodo was actually around fifty when he started this quest... He was as old as Bilbo was in "The Hobbit", but Elijah Wood was only 19 when he started the movies...
Actually, despite it's many turns away from literature, Peter Jackson's movies were the best I have seen of LOTR anywhere!!! I have to say that my three favorite scenes are 1) When Gollum is talking to Smeagol (the two towers) That was awesome!!!! AWESOMENESS, DO YOU HEAR ME??? AWESOMENESS!!!!!! 2) The scene where Pip is singing to Denathor in Osgiliath and Faramir is riding out to certain death (The Return of the King. Made me cry, honestly. It was so beautiful. (I WANT THE SOUNDTRACK!!!!) and 3) The big bad battle scence just outside Osgiliath (The Return of the King) That was so beautiful in its layout and the entire image of these several hundred riders racing out to meet tens of thousands of orcs... *sniff* I love Tolkien...

| 30 Jun 2007 | Anonymous | Loading...speaking of Glorfindel, the style of this pic reminds me a bit of Alan Lee and his painting 'Glorfindel' is absolutely AMAZING!! best pic he's ever done. seriously. i love it.
and i love this pic too. beautiful. i love frodo.
and i agree with all who are ranting about the movies. beautifully done, but terrible all at once. how can you live with yourself after butchering the story like that?
anywho, tis all i have to say. nice pic.
