He sat down upon the stone and cupped his chin in his hands, staring eastwards but seeing little with his eyes. All that had happened since Bilbo left the Shire was passing through his mind, and he recalled and pondered everything that he could remember of Gandalf's words. Time went on, and still he was no nearer to a choice. Suddenly he awoke from his thoughts: a strange feeling came to him that something was behind him, that unfriendly eyes were upon him.

No way! this is exactly how I imagined Frodo. You know, middle-aged looking. And he does NOT look too young in the picture. Humph. But he does in the movies, at least in my opinion ...

I just love Frodo fanart. You did a really great job on this - the face expecially. Boromir seems a little small, though - I mean, the perspective is great and all, but I've always imagined Boromir as sort of looming over Frodo... they really could've played that up in the movie, if they'd had time.

Anyway, excellent pic. Frodo lives! ~mThanks a lot.

You've really captured the sadness and stress on Frodo's face--the weight of the world, really! He's trying to figure out what he's going to do, and he knows that going to Mordor will be an immensely difficult and painful journey, and he's still mourning the loss of Gandalf, his friend and counsellor. And just then Boromir stalks through the trees.....Yeah, poor Frodo. But I think this is exactly what makes him so appealing as a character, the notion of selflessly taking all this upon him.

You are absolutly wonderful at water colours!2 But there's just one thing about this picture: to me hobbits r supposed to look child like with round faces, but thats just me. Still good though!Well, Frodo is 50 years old at that time ...

Frodo's eyes do seem a bit too dark around the nose, at least in my opinion. However, while Boromir's eyes look a bit strange, it really gives the viewer a sort of haunted feeling, like Boromir isn't really himself. (Which, of course, he wasn't)True, I have always imagined him being really stressed and troubled in that scene.

I really like how you portray the hobbit's faces, so that they look like adults, in small bodies, that's how I've always pictured them.
good job,
C.Yeah, many artists depict them as kids, and it's very tempting to do so.

I've seen many Tolkien illustrations. Many of those tried to emphasize everything, while unfortunately failing and instead having the abstract illusion that never even slightly connected with LOR. Never the less the landscapes of other artists were impressive. Now here in your work you not only have the beautiful surrounding, you go beyond that and through your talent you show the relations between the characters.

Although Tolkien is a legend and you've just begun, you're up there with Tolkien having completed the works of greatness.*bows* I'm flattered. Thanks so much.

Wow. You're really good! Do you do things professionally- I mean, it looks like you do. I saw your Lúthien pic, and that's just as good. Your Frodo's perfect, though I think he's a little too pointy.I've just started as a pro.
