The leaves were long, the grass was green, the hemlock-umbels tall and fair, and in the glade was seen of stars in shadow shimmering. Tinúviel was dancing there, to music of a pipe unseen, and light of stars was in her hair and in her raiment glimmering.

J.R.R.Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings, Book 1, Chapter 11: 'A Knife in the Dark'

REALLY beautiful! You've really captured a moment from the book itself, one of the very few I've seen so far to do so.

A very beautiful painting of Luthien; in truth, I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. Your style and colors work well for Tolkien’s telling of her, and I also think it’s cool how you’ve left it up to the viewer to decide what she looks like, since no doubt, we all have a certain image or feeling of what the most beautiful of eleves should look like.

I love how stark, yet striking everything is in this painting, including the Morning Star of the Elves, herself. I also love your use of dark and light, and how Luthien’s lengendary beauty, is shown, through her grace and poise, yet at the sametime, still lefted an ellusive mystery, like herself.
