'Let's have a drink at any rate,' said Pippin. 'I'm parched.' He clambered on to a great tree-root that wound down into the stream, and stooping drew up some water in his cupped hands. It was clear and cold, and he took many draughts. Merry followed him. The water refreshed them and seemed to cheer their hearts; for a while they sat together on the brink of the stream, dabbling their sore feet and legs, and peering round at the trees that stood silently about them, rank upon rank, until they faded away into grey twilight in every direction.

Lovely pic. Really. I love the way you coloured it.
The only thing is: These are no hobbit-faces. But, well...
They look quite realistic. I dont have to tell you. You know yourself, how much talent you have...What are "hobbit-faces", then?

Wow! It's great! Your pictures reminds me of Allan Lee's, except that I really think you draw better faces. All of your pictures are just superb!!Thanks a lot.

It's brilliant how you worked with the whites in here... I'm not sure which is Pippin, and which Merry, but the one of the right has the head too big for his shoulders. That would be Merry, then.

Oh, gods! One of the things that usually bugs me about hobbit artwork is the fact that the artists usually feel the need to give them adorable, young "hobbit faces." You've made them look real. You've shown emotion in their faces, they're weary, they're scared, but they've gotten enough experience that they aren't going to go off crying about it.
Oh, gods! again. This is brilliant. Thanks a lot.

Other than the fact that Merry looks like he's popping his neck, this is a very nice picture. For those who can't tell who is who--Pippin doesn't have an Elven brooch, a nice detail I noted with delight.Yes, and Merry has a scratch on his forehead 12

I love Pippin's cute little up-turned pointy nose! Though he certainly wasn't a child by the time of the WotR, it shows nicely that he was the youngest and smallest hobbit. And Merry popping his neck actually works for me in this piece, intential or not. Who's to say that he didn't need to do that after all the rough-handling, and the crawling/walking/running away into Fangorn. Surely he'd be abit sore at this point, and may need to relax or loosen the muscles around his neck. Works perfectly with the theme, as far as I'm concerned. Lovely. Thanks a lot.

It's obvious which one's Merry. He's the one with the light hair, the one with the scar on his forehead. They look great! You've truly captured their child-like features! Thanks a lot.

Heh! Hobbits are my favorite! I really like your art and I've been through here several times. May I ask a request? You know the part where Gandalf takes Pippin to Minas Tirith and it said something like 'and Pippin felt like he was part of a statue as the world spun around him' or something like that. I don't know what book or chapter or anything it's in, so sorry. XD (I haven't had a chance to reread the books in a while...) Anyway, I really like how you do all our stuff. I can't paint to save my life. TT Oh well! I guess I'll just have to practice... and get a canvas or two for the summer! ^-^
